Don Roos grew up with photography and in high school joined the Photographic club. When he started working he bought a Pentax SLR, a few lenses and flash and documented everything and even did a few weddings for friends.
Buying a whole lot of equipment to set himself up as a photographer and to also make himself mobile with his travels, he specialises in, but is not restriced to landscape and nature photography as well as macro photography. He likes to disappear into the roughest of terrains to get unique shots, and is willing to travel anywhere when commissioned by clients.

They were was established in 2006, specialising in customised, small-group safaris with a particular focus on wildlife, nature and photography. They offer tours throughout South Africa, Namibia and Madagascar.

After getting his first digital SLR at the age of 19 he became so obsessed with taking beautiful pictures that he decided to change his career choice and opt for a career in landscape photography.
Hougaard Malan realises the need to capture forever the wonderful sights of nature which South Africa has so much of, and most of the images in his portfolio have been shot around Stellenbosch.
